The Boy Who Loved By Durjoy Datta
The Boy Who Loved By Durjoy Datta
The title tells us that this book belongs to young adult genre or to a romantic fiction. But from many books which I have read in same genre, this book is quite different. Like in any other books where we get to see a boy.a girl meeting up, eventually their friendships grows into love and something happens which causes a drift in their relationships and
later they patch up. but in this book it's quite different which touches our heart. The book makes us cry, smile, sometimes makes us angry and overall makes us to think. That's most important right,to make us think. The story is spun around four mairn characters and they are Raghu Ganguly, Anirban Ganguly, Brahmi Sharma and zubeida.
The main protagonist among these four is Raghu Ganguly who narrates the story through his diary. Raghu, a late teenager, always thinks of different ways of committing suicide, as he thinks that he was the reason why his best friend, Sami had died as he couldn't save him. After two years also,he thinks the same, the way to die, and his family members knowing his intentions try to engage him in different activities and his brother, Anirban, encourages him in making new friends and he shares all his secrets to him just to make him forget that tragic încident and he along with his parents changes his school, where Raghu, decides that he won't talk to anyone. But when his teacher introduce him and his classmates,he just remembers only one name and that name was brahmi Sharma, the class monitor. Now as Raghu tries to fimd the way to find any fault in her,he fails but he notices something thoat other class members don't and that was the slash, cuts and brunses on the hands of Brahmi and he gets to know that she also has
the secrets which she doesn't shares with anyone and remains in solitude and doesn't like to mingle with others. When they both get to know each other and start to go out, many secrets of their life are shared as well as the reason of the slash and cuts are also revealed. Eventually many incidences happen in their life where both face many difficulty from their family and they both undergo many Pain and tortures
which makes them to take that ultimate step of committimg suicide. The book speaks how religions make someone to act against their own conscience and makes them to take those harsh steps that no learned and educated person will ever take. The book also reveals how sometimes it becomes important to share your pain and sadness to those people we think are close to us. The book also makes us to stand against those who do wrong to us.
